Common Orange Essential Oil Blends Q’s and A’s

Can you mix lavender and orange essential oils?

Yes! Lavender essential oil pairs very well with citrus oils, especially orange. The two are a perfect match!

They make a wonderful blend for when you need to decompress after a long day.

Is orange essential oil vitamin C?

We know oranges and citrus fruits in general provide high levels of vitamin C.

Orange essential oil is taken from the peel of an orange. The peel is the part of the fruit that has the most concentrated amount of vitamin C, but not enough to use the essential oil as a stand-alone supplement.

Choosing An Essential Oil Brand

It’s especially important if you are taking essential oils internally to choose a pure high quality oil with zero fillers and contaminants. Visit each brand’s website to find whether or not they recommend their oils for internal use.

There are many reputable essential oil companies. When choosing a brand make sure they disclose the botanical name, country of origin, how the oil is sourced, and complete transparency of testing results.

You should also look for quality ID number ( or batch ID number), and the expiration date printed on each bottle.

Possible Side Effects When Using Orange Essential Oil Blends

Like most citrus oils, orange essential oil is a photosensitive oil. With that in mind, if you are using it topically as part of your skincare, avoid direct sunlight or UV rays for 12 hours after application.

Skin irritation is the most common side effect. Be sure to always do a skin patch test before using topically.

Make sure to consult with your doctor before use if you have an ongoing medical condition, or if you are pregnant or nursing.

Always keep essential oils away from the reach of children and pets.
