How To Best Use Copaiba Essential Oil Recipes
Copaiba essential oil has been used medicinally since the 16th century by indigenous people for many natural treatments.
There have been recent studies that scrutinize the benefits of essential oils for medicinal use. If you’re new to essential oils, I encourage you to do your own research before incorporating them into your wellness routine.
I’m not a medical professional. I’m sharing what I have learned about copaiba essential oil from personal experience and research.
What Is Copaiba Essential Oil
Copaiba oil comes from resin of the different species of copaiba trees found in South America. The resin is the sticky gum you see in the trunks of trees. The oil is taken by steam distilling.
Steam Distilling:
Water is boiled, creating steam that is passed through plant material.
Then, the steam carries the aromatic compounds from the plant to a collection tube
where the steam cools and turns back into water.
From there, a pure, clean essential oil can easily be separated from the water.

Choosing An Essential Oil Brand
It’s especially important if you are taking essential oils internally to choose a pure oil with zero fillers and contaminants. Visit each brand’s website to find wether or not they recommend their oils for internal use.
There are many reputable essential oil companies. When choosing a brand make sure they disclose the botanical name, country of origin, how the oil is sourced, and complete transparency of testing results.
You should also look for quality ID number ( or batch ID number), and the expiration date printed on each bottle.
