It’s no secret that my favorite way to pray is to use scripture as my guide.

God’s word is full of promises and it carries the power of God with it. What an awesome gift and privilege it is to have it in our homes. Let’s not take it for granted!

The word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intends of the heart.” -Hebrews 4:12

5 Reasons to encourage and pray for your husband often if not daily

  1. Your husband is the spiritual leader of your home. Pray for his personal walk with God.

  3. Pray against the forces of temptation in his life.
  4. Pray for God’s protection over him in every day life and for good health.

Bible Verses For My Husband Turned Into Powerful Prayers

Let’s face it, not all of us have the gift of being a prayer warrior. But thanks to our heavenly father, daily prayer can be easy and fruitful when we use the bible itself as our guide.

If you have trouble knowing how to pray, start out by praying bible verses over your husband.

You can turn any bible verse into a prayer but let’s look at a few examples of how to use God’s word to cover our husbands in prayer.

Dear Lord,

May your Holy Spirit rest on my husband.

The spirit of wisdom and of understanding,

the spirit of counsel and of power,

also the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

May my husband delight in the fear of the Lord.

In the name of our savior Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

That prayer was taken from the old testament book of Isaiah 11:2

Lord God,

I pray you give my husband the spirit of wisdom and revelation

so that he may know you better.

I pray also that the eyes of his heart my be enlightened

in order that he may know the hope to which you have called him.

In Jesus name. Amen.

This prayer taken from Ephesians 1:17-18 is a wonderful way to pray for the truth of God to become very real in your husband’s heart, especially if he’s struggling with his christian faith or if he doesn’t know God personally yet.

Let’s look at one of my favorite marriage bible verses you can pray over your marriage…

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

I’m sure you have heard these verses read out loud at a wedding ceremony or two, but it should really be prayed over established marriages often! The family unit is under attack more than ever in these days and we need to protect it the best way we have.

And while praying for our own husbands is a beautiful way to show our love, don’t forget to keep yourself in prayer as well. Pray that you may be an excellent wife, mother, and to fill your home with all things lovely, and your heart and mind with thoughts of peace, hope and joy.

For you dear friends read and pray through Titus 2:3-5

“…..Older women are to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

Remember to look at the commandments of the Lord as a present help for how to live peaceful fruitful lives.

I’m assuming, if you’ve read this far that you are a married lady. But If you are a young woman not yet married, it’s never too early to start praying for your future husband. Prayer is the best thing you can do to prepare yourself for the man God will someday bring into your life.
