The only downside to this book, and most lift the flap books, is that the flaps will often get ripped off the page by little babies and toddlers.

Celebrating the birth of a new baby is such a blessing and this book emphasizes exactly that. The only negative about this book is that it isn’t a board book, therefore you can’t let baby play with it if you don’t want the pages ripped apart.

Again, there are so many books to choose from but these two made it to the top of our best baby books for bed time category.

Goodnight Moon. If i’m being completely honest, I didn’t think I was going to like this book as much as I did. I purchased it as a last pick just so I could get a discount. It was one of those buy 3 books get one free type of deals. I knew it was supposed to be a classic children’s book but it never appealed to me. As it turns out it has become one of our all time favorites! It is beautifully written, the perfect book to wind down at the end of the day.

I Love You to the Moon and Back, is the last reminder you want to leave your little one with at the end of the day. A mama (or papa bear) reminds the cub of all the things she loves about their intimate relationship, all the way to the last page where it ends with:

I love you to the moon and stars, my precious little one.”
