40 Funny and Sweet Questions to Ask Kids About Mom

Sharing is caring!

The joys of motherhood are endless, but one of my favorites is having conversations with my kids. I love getting to know them and seeing the world through their eyes. Meaningful conversations are easy to have with my older kids, they’re not afraid to tell me exactly what they think (sometimes a little too honestly! 😂), and I love them for that. But these questions to ask kids about mom are more for the little ones.

When I was two years old, my aunt and grandma recorded a “very serious” interview with me, asking all sorts of questions about my life and family. To this day, that tape recording is one of my most treasured keepsakes from my childhood.

That’s why I put together this list of questions. They make a great starting point so you can capture your little one’s (probably very funny) answers to look back on for years to come.

Whether you save it for yourself or pass it down to them when they’re older, it’s a memory worth keeping. And it might even become a favorite family tradition for years to come!

You could do this for Mother’s Day, your birthday, or just for fun! I actually used to do something similar with my older boys when they were younger. I called them birthday interviews. I think I even wrote about it in this blog post on mother and son date ideas if you want to check it out!
